The TeeFury Artist Cheat Sheet

We all want to be better at what we do, and that includes designers. But sometimes, it can be hard to know where to start. If you're looking to grow your skills as an artist, here are a few tips from successful artists on TeeFury.

How can I become a better designer?

Design can take years to master, but there are a few things you can do to get on the right path:

  • Practice. Set aside time to work on your design skills. Consume as many learning resources as you can. Make practicing art and design a priority. Don’t be afraid to try multiple drafts of every idea. The more you create, the better you'll become.
  • Find your style. Figuring out your artistic style can help you flesh out your overall brand. Establishing your artistic personality will help you carve out space for yourself within the design community. What kind of designs do you love to create? What are your strengths as a designer? Once you know what you're good at, you can start to focus on developing your own unique style.
  • Ask for feedback. Connecting with others in the design community and asking them for feedback is a great way to identify areas where you can improve. It helps make sure you are constantly evolving, growing, and learning in your artistic practice. Attend design conferences and events. This is a great way to meet other designers, learn from them, and get inspired.
  • Learn from the masters. Study the work of other designers who you admire. Pay attention to their use of color, composition, and typography. Take online courses or workshops. There are many resources available to help you improve your design skills.

What should I design?

Staring at a blank screen is intimidating, discouraging, and not very useful. Before deciding what to design, it’s important to ask these questions:

  • What inspires you?
  • Is the idea original? The idea should be 100% yours.
  • What is my goal? The best designs are created out of passion, not out of greed.
  • Is this something people want to buy? Will people still want to wear this in a year?
  • Who am I making this for? Consider your target audience and who you want to reach.

In summary, remember that the most important thing is to never give up. Keep designing, keep learning, and keep growing as a designer.Â
